St Mary's is a nurturing school situated in the beautiful Cotswold market town of Tetbury. Staff well-being and development is central to our caring Christian vision and we are passionate about achieving the best outcomes for each child. We have a Forest School onsite, a huge field used all year round for den building, digging and exploring and an all-weather running track. As a school community we have a collective commitment to developing healthy and active children and we put children at the heart of all we do.
We are a 2 form entry school, rated 'Good' by Ofsted and most classes are taught in single year group classes.

We currently have a vacancy for two 1:1 Teaching Assistants and two Midday Supervisors.
1:1 Teaching Assistants (Temporary)
We are seeking capable and enthusiastic teaching assistants to support children with social, emotional and mental health needs/ cognition and learning needs from 25th February 2025.
The ideal candidate would be someone who will be able to:
- be genuinely committed to developing caring and trusting relationships and supporting pupils with specific needs in accessing their education;
- motivate and encourage the pupil;
- be calm patient and adaptable;
- work in class to support teaching and learning;
- implement intervention programmes;
- assist with providing verbal/ written feedback as appropriate;
- has good communication skills;
- be able to support the Christian ethos of the school.

We have two temporary posts available, both at Grade 5 (Point 11 to 14 - depending upon experience) with a start date of the beginning of the next term - 25th February 2025.
Post 1 - 20 hours a week (linked to an EHCP*) + 7.5 hours a week temporary.
Post 2 - 18.75 hours a week (linked to an ECHP*)

Midday Supervisors
We are seeking two people to join our Midday Supervisor Team, supporting our children at lunchtime. You need to be enthusiastic, energetic and able to positively engage with children's play and social development. The role involves working outside on the playground and the school field and supervising children eating lunch in the school hall.
We are looking for people who are committed to the safety and wellbeing of our children and can demonstrate our school values in action.
We have two roles available:
Role 1 - 3.75 hours a week (1.25 hours a 3 for 3 days a week).
Role 2 - 5 hours a week (1 hour a day for 5 days a week).
Both roles are part-time (term time only), permanent positions which are to start as soon as possible.
The ideal candidates will people who:
- have recent experience of engaging positively with children;
- have an ability to establish positive expectations of pupils’ behaviour and a sensitivity to pupils’ personal needs;
- are able to motivate and encourage the pupils in active, caring play;
- are calm, patient and adaptable;
- have good communication skills;
- are able to support the Christian ethos of the school.
